JON HUTCHEON

Co-Owner

Jon Hutcheon is the co-owner and founder of Elev802 Boston and has spent nearly two decades working with hockey players at every level of the game.

A former professional hockey player, Jon transitioned from playing into coaching with a focus on skill development and helping players understand how to apply their skills in real game situations. In 2010, he founded High End Hockey, beginning with a small group of players and summer programs. That organization ultimately evolved into Elev802 Boston following its partnership with Elev802 in 2021.

Jon's coaching résumé includes two USA Hockey 18U National Championships with the Neponset Valley River Rats and South Kent Selects Academy. He also spent five consecutive summers working with the St. Louis Blues during their NHL Development Camp, serving as a skills coach and working directly with players from the organization's NHL roster, including members of the Blues' 2019 Stanley Cup championship team.

Over the course of his coaching career, players from Jon's programs have gone on to compete at the NCAA, professional, Olympic, and NHL levels. His approach is built around teaching game-specific skills that transfer directly from training to competition rather than simply performing drills for the sake of repetition.

As co-owner of Elev802 Boston, Jon oversees the organization's player-development philosophy and plays a central role in building its programs, coaching staff, and training environment. His vision helped shape Elev802 Boston into a comprehensive development facility combining real ice, skating treadmill training, strength and conditioning, synthetic-ice skill work, and individualized coaching.

Jon's development philosophy goes beyond skating and puck skills. His programs incorporate skating mechanics, puck protection, player separation, hockey sense, positional awareness, in-game reads, special-teams skills, preparation, and the mental side of performance.
